Neat trick
For all of us how are still traveling in the colder climates this works well. In the morning when the temperature is hovering just above freezing it's hard to stow your cold stiff soil hose with out cracking it. Now when we are ready to pull out I have DW run hot water in the sink for about 5 minutes. It not only cleans it some but makes it flexible and easy to store.
Extended service contract
We are still looking at extended service contracts and are leaning towards a company called Insurance Solutions that our dealer recommends.
Does any one have any experience with them and/or a recommendation?
Thanks

RE: Love it or Hate it?
98 Thor Signature, one flat tire. Loved it.
03 Fleetwood Pace Arrow, DVD replaced, front TV mount came lose. Loved it.
08 Newmar Grand Star, best floor plan we've ever seen. I don't like the word hate, so I'll just say we know five different service departments and are about to meet our sixth.
RE: Newmar Grand Star, Beware
First we have to apologize for not responding earlier. We have not had WIFI for over a month since we left Tucson (after taking the advise of one of the posts who responded to go to LaMesa RV for service). The service department at LaMesa RV had the coach for only one day and reset the jacks then adjusted the door. Now when we level the unit the door no longer jambs or locks us in or out. Unfortunately we do have to slam the door quite hard to get it to close all the way but the repair is a huge improvement.
About LaMesa RV, in the 50 years of owner all kinds of motor vehicles I have only seen one other service department come close to LaMesa in quality. We can't say enough good about them.
Unfortunately we missed a lot of the later posts and some could have helped.
To clarify some questions from the later posts our Power Gear system is electric not hydraulic.
In closing this MOHO is one of the most livable that we have ever seen, we just wish it didn't have so many problems.
RE: Newmar Grand Star, Beware
I think the headline 'Beware' might be a little over kill. Workhorse makes a pretty good chassis. Had a W22 before our DSDP. No chassis problems.Yep, I suggested some time ago that the OP change the thread name to more accurately reflect the REAL problem. Guess they want to blame Newmar for what is probably a jack or operator problem!
The Newmar service tech said he doubted the problem was in the jacks, which I stated in my post. Operator problem? You push one button, do you think maybe I did it wrong?
RE: Newmar Grand Star, Beware
Thanks for the replies. The first thing we did was to call the Newmar service rep. I thought the jacks were the problem but the Newmar service rep. said he doubted that and asked us to go to a dealers service department. The door was closed when I leveled.
All of the wheels were still in contact with the ground. As I stated we were on a concrete pad and fairly level, just down on the rear. Distant Drum campground is one of the fanciest I've ever seen and the pads are pretty level side to side.
Our Grand Star is on a Workhorse 24/25 chassis. It's a 3752 model with the front kitchen.
The MOHO that was damaged was our Pace Arrow.
Newmar Grand Star, Beware
Let us start out saying that we love our Newmar Grand Star, but we have found out there may be a major problem. We bought our 08 Grand Star in Michigan last october and promptly drove it to our leased site which is perfectly level. Starting on the road yesterday we stopped at Distant Drums campground in Camp Verde. The site was almost level except for slightly low in the rear. Using our Power Gear auto levelers I brought it to level and then discovered we couldn't open the door of the coach. Finally we had to drop it back on the wheels and turn off the refrigerator. We called Newmar this morning and were told to take it to a servicing dealer. We called World Wide RV in Mesa for an appointment and were told by the service manager there is a problem with the Grand Stars. They had been working on one for a month and couldn't fix it.
We have an appointment to go to Mesa on Tuesday and they are going to try their best but warned us there is a major (major is my feeling) problem and we may have to take is back to the factory for a total fix.
We didn't have any plans to drive over 2000 miles for warranty work and really don't want to spend that kind of money for the gas, let alone the the time.
If any one has any ideas, we're listening.
RE: Carry kayak on MH ladder???
How much does the Kayak weigh? My inflatable weighs 38 pounds, my Sea Kayak weighs 80 pounds. I see people with two bikes on their ladders and I am sure they weigh more together than 38 pounds. Are you going to be camping close enough to the water to launch near your MOHO?
Unbeatable service
My DW and I use a Garmin GPS in our MOHO which I often hike with. I had an accident with it and the following is an excerpt of a letter I wrote to Garmin which explains it all.
Recently I had a accident with my new Garmin 60CSx. It came off my belt and fell onto the ground while I was photographing a rock formation in the Arizona desert.
When I returned to our campsite extremely upset. I called your support line to get a repair order. When I explained to your customer service person what had happened she asked me to hold while she talked to someone else. When she returned I was told it would be replaced free of charge. This I feel is phenomenally excellent service and validates my decision to have purchased my fourth Garmin GPS.
I received my new unit yesterday with nylon pouch which won't let it fall off.
RE: "Console" for Fleetwood Flair
We got a really nice one with two drawers from a Amish manufacture. If you want I can send you a picture and their address.
